Connections:
Feed the SixtyFour's 32 balanced analog audio inputs from
the workstation D/A outputs, Mic Preamp outputs, Keyboard
or other instrument outputs, dubbing machine outputs, rack
effects outputs or remote mixer outputs. Applications
Send
the SixtyFour's 32 balanced analog audio outputs to the
workstation A/D inputs, stereo monitor speaker amp inputs,
surround amp speaker inputs, headphone amp inputs, dubbing
machine inputs, rack effects inputs or remote mixer inputs.
The
SixtyFour uses industry standard Tascam style DB25 connectors.
Each input or output is fully balanced and shielded and
also has an overall EMI shield for each 8 channels. The
connectors can be used in conjunction with commonly available
audio snakes.
CM Labs
also offers several interconnect products to provide simple
and reliable installation of the SixtyFour.
Recording:
Use the SixtyFour to select what to feed into your workstation
for recording or monitoring. Most studios have more output
devices than A/D converter inputs, so the SixtyFour can
route the desired sound sources into the A/D's, and optimize
the input levels to get maximum signal to noise for recording.
Effect
sends from the DAW (D/A's) can be routed via the SixtyFour
Rack into external effects inputs. The effect outputs return
to the DAW via the SixtyFour.
Monitoring:
The workstation D/A outputs feed all your stereo/surround
monitor speakers and headphones via the SixtyFour. The level
control on the SixtyFour makes volume changes very simple.
All of the studio and control room speakers and phones are
controlled very simply from the front panel.
Talk
Back:
The SixtyFour rear panel GPI input can be used in conjunction
with a talk back trigger to provide professional studio
communication capability.
Benefits:
1.) No patch cables to buy, store, clean or throw away in
frustration.
2.) Completely silent switching and level changes.
3.) Completely recallable patches and levels. 90 memories.
4.) Simple front panel operation.
5.) Mono, Stereo and Surround operation.
6.) MIDI and RS-232 control of levels, routing and memory
recall.
7.) Metering capability to assist in studio alignment and
troubleshooting.
