SixtyFour Application for Recording Studio and Production

Connections:

Feed the SixtyFour's 32 balanced analog audio inputs from the workstation D/A outputs, Mic Preamp outputs, Keyboard or other instrument outputs, dubbing machine outputs, rack effects outputs or remote mixer outputs. Applications

Send the SixtyFour's 32 balanced analog audio outputs to the workstation A/D inputs, stereo monitor speaker amp inputs, surround amp speaker inputs, headphone amp inputs, dubbing machine inputs, rack effects inputs or remote mixer inputs.

The SixtyFour uses industry standard Tascam style DB25 connectors. Each input or output is fully balanced and shielded and also has an overall EMI shield for each 8 channels. The connectors can be used in conjunction with commonly available audio snakes.

CM Labs also offers several interconnect products to provide simple and reliable installation of the SixtyFour.

Recording:
Use the SixtyFour to select what to feed into your workstation for recording or monitoring. Most studios have more output devices than A/D converter inputs, so the SixtyFour can route the desired sound sources into the A/D's, and optimize the input levels to get maximum signal to noise for recording.

Effect sends from the DAW (D/A's) can be routed via the SixtyFour Rack into external effects inputs. The effect outputs return to the DAW via the SixtyFour.

Monitoring:
The workstation D/A outputs feed all your stereo/surround monitor speakers and headphones via the SixtyFour. The level control on the SixtyFour makes volume changes very simple. All of the studio and control room speakers and phones are controlled very simply from the front panel.

Talk Back:
The SixtyFour rear panel GPI input can be used in conjunction with a talk back trigger to provide professional studio communication capability.

Benefits:
1.) No patch cables to buy, store, clean or throw away in frustration.
2.) Completely silent switching and level changes.
3.) Completely recallable patches and levels. 90 memories.
4.) Simple front panel operation.
5.) Mono, Stereo and Surround operation.
6.) MIDI and RS-232 control of levels, routing and memory recall.
7.) Metering capability to assist in studio alignment and troubleshooting.

SixtyFour Application for Touring and Live Sound

Connections:

Feed the SixtyFour's 32 balanced analog audio inputs from house and or monitor console outputs.

Send the SixtyFour's 32 balanced analog audio outputs to monitor mixer inputs, house speaker amp inputs, monitor amp inputs, in-ear transmitter inputs, recorder inputs, rack effects inputs or remote mixer inputs.

House Speaker Control:
Use the SixtyFour to mult the house console outputs into the house speaker arrays or clusters. Last minute compensations in level are easily accommodated right from the SixtyFour's front panel.

Monitor System Control:
The monitor feeds from the SixtyFour are distributed to floor wedges, side fills and in-ear transmitters. Level changes are easily accommodated right from the SixtyFour's front panel.

Live Recording:
Use the SixtyFour to select what to feed into your recorder. You can simply select which direct outputs or busses to record, and optimize the input levels to get maximum signal to noise for recording.

Live Effects:
Effect sends and returns from the house console can be routed via the SixtyFour Rack into external effects.

Benefits:
1.) 100% reliable connections because patch cables are eliminated.
2.) Completely silent switching and level changes.
3.) Completely recallable patches and levels. 90 memories.
4.) Simple front panel operation.
5.) Front panel metering makes trouble shooting a breeze.
6.) MIDI and RS-232 control of levels, routing and memory recall.

SixtyFour Application for Demo Rooms

Connections:

Feed the SixtyFour's 32 analog audio inputs from the audio sources in the store like mixer outputs, multitrack outputs, keyboard or other instrument outputs, or CD player outputs.

Send the SixtyFour's 32 analog audio outputs to the demo speaker amps, or headphone amps.

The SixtyFour uses industry standard Tascam style DB25 connectors. Each input or output is fully balanced and shielded and also has an overall EMI shield for each 8 channels. The connectors can be used in conjunction with commonly available audio snakes.

CM Labs also offers several interconnect products to provide simple and reliable installation of the SixtyFour, including the CM Labs DB8 terminal strip adapters.

Speaker or Headphone Demonstrations:
Use the SixtyFour to route a sound source to the desired speakers or phones to demonstrate. Adjust the sound level from the front panel of the SixtyFour. To demonstrate other speaker set, route the sound source to the other speakers to demonstrate. Adjust the sound level from the front panel of the SixtyFour.

To make instant comparisons between speaker sets, save the settings for each speaker set in one of the SixtyFour's memories. Just recall the memory to audition the speaker set. Since the SixtyFour saves the level settings in each memory, very accurate and instant comparisons are simple to achieve.
