Jog Wheel
Central to the Edit Section is the Jog Wheel.  On top is a machine tooled aluminum precision jog / shuttle wheel.  Most other DAW consoles use cheap molded plastic wheels.  Underneath ours sits a high resolution optical encoder which is rated for over 100 million cycles!!  Try and wear that sucker out!  This allows far more accurate control than the annoying cheap 15 cent rotary encoders found on other consoles.  Many of our competitiors use plastic shafts on their encoders.  Press them down a bit to hard and they bend or snap off!  Our Jog Wheels are of the highest quality possible and are seen only on MotorMate and some $10,000+  consoles.  Just above the Jog Wheel is the Shuttle/Scrub switch and indicator LED's.  Use it to access the Jog Wheel for Shuttlling or Scrubbing.  The Jog Wheel is also used with the Navigator section to control the beginning and end of regions for editing.
