Using Motor Mix with MOTU Digital Performer

MotorMix Setup:
1.) Connect the MIDI out of MotorMix to a MIDI input port on your MIDI interface. Connect the MIDI in of MotorMix to the MIDI output port on your MIDI interface. Use the same port for both connections. Move a fader on MotorMix and check the MIDI activity light on you interface to see that your cables are connected properly.

2.) Make sure MotorMix is in “ProTools mode”. When in this mode, MotorMix will power on and display “Open a ProTools session to begin”. If MotorMix is not in this mode, press the “PLAY” and “ESCAPE” switches on MotorMix together to switch modes. MotorMix will display “Pro Tools Mode -- ON -”

MOTU Digital Performer 3 Setup:



1.) Click download button above to download the MotorMix plug-in for Digital Performer 3 (68.4kb).
2.) Expand the MotorMix archive.
3.) Put the MotorMix Plug in into your DP Plug-ins folder.
4.) Reboot your Mac and launch DP.
5.) Launch Digital Performer and pull down the “Basics” menu.
6.) Select “Control Surface Setup” and select MotorMix in the Hardware box.
7.) In the “ MIDI Communication:” box select MotorMix 1 or what ever name you have used to define it in your MIDI device setup. Click “OK” and you’ll be up and running.

MOTU Digital Performer 4 Setup:

1.) Launch Digital Performer and pull down the “Basics” menu.
2.) Select “Control Surface Setup” and select HUI in the Hardware box.
3.) In the “ MIDI Communication:” box select MotorMix 1 or what ever name you have used to define it in your MIDI device setup. Click “OK” and you’ll be up and running.
